Feeling like I need to step it up. I haven't lost any weight in awhile and I even went up a few ounces. I know, I know, no big deal it could just be that I had more water weight one day or whatever. But STILL! I was on a roll and I'm worried that I'm going to settle into this weight for awhile. I've been reading a lot and TONS of people say that they are disappointed that they don't loose much weight while training for a marathon. I still don't understand all the details of WHY but it's a pretty well known fact apparently. But I'm not running that much! In fact I've been feeling like my 3 mile runs during the week are... WEAK! I'm wanting to do MORE or at least run three miles 3 or 4 days a week and then do my long run. But I'm trying to be good so I don't get injured. So instead of running more I've decided that I'm going to do a good hard ab workout every morning and I'm going to start doing a cycling class on Monday and Friday morning at 6am. I figure it uses my leg muscles but it won't put stress on my knees or joints which is where most running injuries happen. But that way I can still be super active and hopefully get some more of these pounds off. I do have to say though that right now at 162 I look the same as I did when I weight 152 when we went to Italy in the summer of 2006. I was not doing ANY weights and was therefore not toned AT ALL but I was running every day and trying to eat healthy. I think I am MUCH more in shape and physically fit than I was at that weight and I KNOW I have more muscle (MUCH more muscle) than I did then (or have ever had for that matter) and muscle weighs more than fat so I'm guessing that's why I look similar to how I did then. I really need to start taking a few pictures so I can see my progress a little more obviously. We'll see when I venture to actually post those un-Photoshopped pictures of myself on here! Lol! Oh well, this is progress enough! I've been working hard and I'm hoping that I keep seeing results. If I don't loose any more weight by Monday, I'm going on a strict no sweets diet for the whole week for sure, maybe even the rest of May. We'll see how ambitious I'm feeling! But for now I'm stepping it up and adding abs every morning and cycling Monday & Friday in addition to my weight class Monday and Wednesday nights and my 3 mile runs on Tuesday and Thursday and my long run on Saturday. If that doesn't get this weight off then I'm going to start amputating unnecessary appendages! Just kidding... kind of

1 pack fruit snacks
10 oz slim fast shake
2 pieces of taffy
handful of cheese crackers
1/2 an apple
ham sandwich (no mayo on homemade wheat bread)
20 oz water
1/2 an apple
20 oz water

  1. just keep it up Janelle! you are going great. weight loss always comes in spurts for me - so don't get discouraged!
